You are right, I tried to work for those targets (reliability etc.), but at my time there were obstacles in a form of old-fashioned attitudes in approving the records, fears of suspicions of other related organisatons, unwillingness to come to meetings, just some of them to mention. You must remember that some members of previous LOF Committee are still sitting in the present one (Litauras, Zydrunas and Stankevicuis) , now working against their former opinions or acts.
But anyway something was achieved at that time and that was the approval of international categories (ABCDE) of the species, the ultimate list of sub-species of Lithuanian birds, realistic and well-working list of collected records. Now, all these achivements are ruined and instead it is offered something that I do not need to repeat.
I understand that your (Vytas and you) work is hard, as mine used to be as well, in the Committee while fighting for new, international and modern targets under the existing circumstances. On the other hand I also understand that in order to receive the acceptance and respect of the growing number of new bird-watcers (it is really happening), you should not forget their needs and expectations, as the former LOFK did, by making all its work closed and not giving response and value to those men and women, boys and girls working and spending their free time and also money for field bird-watching, the most important part of collecting data for scientific studies.
To make it straight - my irritation is not based on personal history in LOFK but, as I think, once you have been given a chance to improve things, why you are making them worse!!!
